Paul is a founding Principal of Spectralliance. The specific market segments
he has served include cable television, direct broadcast satellite, local
and long distance telephone, and the applications vendors who provide
Customer Care and Billing solutions to this market. He is considered to
be a leading authority in the field of Customer Care and Billing applications
for firms offering their customers the convergent services of voice, video,
and data. He has completed numerous customer care and billing engagements
to telecommunications service providers, and has successfully completed
engagements in the area of strategic planning and product development
to three of the world's preeminent Customer Care and Billing applications
vendors. As such, he has developed a unique understanding of the strategic
issues and business drivers facing both the applications vendor and the
telecommunications service provider.
Mr. Roemer also has considerable consulting experience in a number
of functional areas. Those include performing re-engineering and "Best
Practices" studies for cable and telephony operators, defining
marketing and pricing strategies, developing business plans, and product
development and launches.
Prior to forming Spectralliance Mr. Roemer was president of The ICE
Consulting Group. He has also served as a Consulting Principal with
IBM. In that role Paul was responsible for IBMs cable television
consulting practice, and served in a similar capacity at KPMG. In addition
to his consulting experience, Paul spent two years as director of business
development for Tele-Communications, Inc.
Paul is a frequent speaker at industry forums, including Telestrategies,
the National Communications Forum, the Western Communications Forum,
the National Cable Television Associations annual meeting, and
CTAM. His writings have appeared in such notable trade publications
as CLEC-Planet, Cable World, Multichannel News, On Demand, Information
Week, and Billing World.
